About me

I draw on experience from working in Asia, Africa, Latin America and Europe, primariliy in health, education and community development, holding senior roles in International NGOs.

I’ve led large programmes and complex multicultural teams. Earlier in my career I spent 4 years working in remote parts of China, which taught me about resilience and how culture shapes the way we work.

The questions that have been central to all my work are:

  • What are the conditions for people and organisations to thrive?
  • How do we scale up our contribution?

I learnt that each individual and each organisation has their own path; there is no  blueprint. However,  our mindset – the way we think about our work –  is critical to the results we have at work. Using simple practices can help us focus on the most important issues and create teams built around the key work.

In the workplace there is a tension between focusing on what you are good at and developing the new capabilties which our changing world requires.

In recent years I have been working with organisations to find ways to both focus on what they are good at and improve their capabilities by creating internal and external networks that make them more effective.

As individuals we each have the agency to create some change , but when we harness our own agency with others, we will do something amazing.
